A couple of years ago when I started filmmaking I was impressed by this new thing called Parkour/Freerunning. Young guys were jumping from rooftop to rooftop, flipping and twisting.Looking at what they were capable of I was horrified and spelled with admiration at the same time.
Through my eyes they were super heroes in real life.
They used the dull city scape and transformed it into their playground. Most people look at Parkour as an extreme sport, rather than an art form.
Over the years my fascination of this art of movement changed.Back then if I would have to describe Parkour/Freerunning in one word, it would have been - EPIC.With it came another wisdom over the years that was equally refreshing. Finally I realised that the super power of Parkour/Freerunning doesn’t lie within its epicness, but as an adult to see the world through a child’s eye again.
